Property Taxes – Fire Department
UPDATED: 12/11/2018 1:20 PM. S. Callaway Fire Chief just informed us that the County Assessors office now has everything they need and taxes will reflect properly in 2020.
Notice from Tami Kiso, and Board of Directors
Taxes for Callaway county are out. You will notice you may still be getting billed for North Callaway Fire District. Information from the South Callaway Fire Chief, Jeff Wallendorf, is that the County stated there was not enough time to get taxes changed for 2019 after judge approved, but the dispatch is coming to South Callaway, and taxes will reflect in the 2020 tax year.
I also talked to the County Assessor today, and they stated it was not filed properly in all places. When the court order was granted and then revised (correcting description) Assessor’s department said it was not filed with Recorder & Clerk. South Callaway Fire Department said it has been filed, as court order, and will have their lawyer get to bottom of issue between the county agencies. They are losing tax basis, for something they just had good size expenditure to get completed.
As stated, South Callaway have been getting all dispatches since the original order granted.
I will update when I get more information. We wanted Lot Owners to be aware of the issues at this time.
